Crispy, golden-brown air fryer tortellini, seasoned with Parmesan, garlic, and Italian herbs. A quick and easy snack or appetizer!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (20 ounce) package refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: Marinara sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  1. Rinse the tortellini in a colander under cold water and shake off excess water.
  2. Transfer the tortellini to a large bowl.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil, then add Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Toss until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Arrange tortellini in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if needed.
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce (marinara recommended).

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly spray the tortellini with cooking oil spray before and halfway through air frying.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer.
  • Spice it up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the seasoning mixture for a little bit of heat.
  • Cheese lover’s delight: Use a blend of different cheeses, such as mozzarella, provolone, and Asiago, for an extra cheesy flavor.
  • Garlic galore: Add a clove of minced garlic to the seasoning mixture for a more intense garlic flavor.
  • Herb it up: Experiment with different herbs, such as oregano, basil, or thyme, to customize the flavor to your liking.
  • Sweet and savory: Drizzle the cooked tortellini with a balsamic glaze for a sweet and tangy flavor combination.
  • Make it a meal: Serve the air fryer tortellini over a bed of pasta with your favorite sauce for a quick and easy weeknight dinner.
  • Add some veggies: Toss the tortellini with some roasted vegetables, such as broccoli, bell peppers, or zucchini, for a more nutritious and filling meal.
  • Different Tortellini: While cheese tortellini is a classic, feel free to experiment with other fillings like spinach and ricotta, meat, or even mushroom tortellini. Just adjust the seasonings accordingly to complement the filling.
  • Air Fryer Basket Liners: Consider using air fryer basket liners for easier cleanup. These parchment paper liners are perforated to allow for proper air circulation and prevent the tortellini from sticking to the basket.
