This Apple Cider Sangria is a festive blend of dry white wine, apple cider, and fresh fruits, perfect for fall gatherings. Easy to make and refreshingly bubbly, it combines the flavors of apple, orange, and lemon with a hint of spice, making it a delightful drink for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • 2 cups apple cider (preferably fresh)
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1 medium apple, cored and thinly sliced (Granny Smith recommended)
  • 1 medium orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries (or frozen if out of season)
  • 2 cups club soda or lemon-lime soda (for a sweeter option)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional, for added spice)
  • Ice cubes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, pour in the entire bottle of dry white wine.
  2. Add the apple cider to the pitcher.
  3. Pour in the brandy.
  4. Add the orange liqueur.
  5. Add the sliced apple, leaving the skin on for added color and texture.
  6. Add the sliced orange.
  7. Toss in the sliced lemon.
  8. Add the fresh cranberries (or frozen if using).
  9. Stir the mixture gently with a long spoon to combine all the ingredients.
  10. If using, add the cinnamon stick to the pitcher.
  11. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator. Let it chill for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
  12. When ready to serve, take the pitcher out of the refrigerator.
  13. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  14. Pour the sangria over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
  15. Top off each glass with club soda or lemon-lime soda.
  16. Garnish with a slice of apple or orange on the rim of the glass.
  17. Gather your friends and family to enjoy this delightful drink!
  18. If you have leftovers, store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, adding more soda before serving again.

Notes

  • Feel free to experiment with different fruits like pears or peaches for a unique twist.
  • Adjust the sweetness by choosing between club soda or lemon-lime soda.
  • For a stronger spice flavor, let the sangria sit longer with the cinnamon stick.
