  • 4 cups water (for boiling boba)
  • 2 cups brewed black tea (or green tea, depending on preference)
  • 1 cup milk (whole, almond, or any milk of your choice)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving)
  • Optional toppings: sweetened condensed milk, flavored syrups, or fruit

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  2. Add 1 cup of tapioca pearls and stir gently to prevent sticking.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 25-30 minutes until translucent and chewy.
  4. Remove from heat, cover, and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Drain and rinse the boba under cold water.
  6. Mix in 1/4 cup of sugar while warm to sweeten.
  7. Boil water in a kettle or pot for 2 cups of tea.
  8. Remove from heat, add tea bags or loose tea, and steep for 5-7 minutes.
  9. Remove tea bags or strain loose tea, sweeten if desired, and let cool.
  10. In a large glass or shaker, combine cooled brewed tea and 1 cup of milk.
  11. Stir or shake well, adding flavored syrups if desired.
  12. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
  13. Add sweetened boba pearls to a tall glass (1/4 to 1/2 cup).
  14. If desired, fill with ice cubes.
