Enjoy a refreshing twist on a classic with this Creamy Lemonade, featuring a perfect blend of tart lemon and rich creaminess. Ideal for hot summer days, this delightful drink is sure to be a hit at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh lemon slices, for garnish
  • Mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Roll the lemons on the countertop with your palm to release the juices. Cut them in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or a handheld juicer to yield about 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, adding a splash of warm water if necessary.
  3. Pour in 4 cups of cold water and mix until well combined. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, pour in 1 cup of heavy cream. Whip the cream using a hand mixer or whisk until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Gently fold in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the whipped cream.
  6. Take a small amount of the lemonade base and mix it into the whipped cream to lighten it. Fold this mixture back into the remaining lemonade base carefully to maintain fluffiness.
  7. Pour the creamy lemonade mixture into a large pitcher, scraping down the sides to get all the creamy goodness.
  8. Stir gently to ensure everything is well combined. Taste and adjust lemon flavor or sweetness if needed.
  9. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld and chill.
  10. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the creamy lemonade over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.
  11. Garnish each glass with a fresh lemon slice and a sprig of mint, if desired.

Notes

  • For a sweeter lemonade, adjust the sugar to your taste.
  • This recipe can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
