Notes
Use a dark, aged rum for a richer flavor. Spiced rum or light rum can be used for variations.
Adjust simple syrup to your sweetness preference.
Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential.
Double straining is crucial to remove banana pulp for a smooth texture.
Chill your glass before serving.
Experiment with garnishes like banana chips or chocolate-covered bananas.
For a creamier version, add 1 oz of coconut cream.
For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with a cup of ice.
To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan, heat until sugar dissolves, simmer for 1 minute, and cool completely. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
