Ingredients
Scale
2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cubed
4 ounces (120ml) tequila blanco (silver tequila)
2 ounces (60ml) Cointreau or other orange liqueur
1.5 ounces (45ml) fresh lime juice
1 ounce (30ml) agave nectar (or simple syrup, to taste)

Lime wedges, for garnish
Coarse salt or sugar, for rimming the glasses (optional)
Mango slices, for garnish (optional)
Chili powder, for rimming the glasses (optional, for a spicy kick)
Mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Mango Puree: Peel and cube the mangoes. Blend until smooth. Strain (optional) for an ultra-smooth texture. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
Prepare the Glasses (Optional): If desired, rim glasses with salt, sugar, or chili powder. Moisten the rim with a lime wedge and dip into the rimming ingredient.
Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine mango puree, tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and agave nectar.
Add Ice: Fill the shaker with ice cubes (about two-thirds full).
Shake Vigorously: Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
Strain into Glasses: Fill prepared glasses with ice. Strain the margarita mixture into the glasses, dividing evenly.
Garnish: Garnish with lime wedges, mango slices, and/or mint sprigs.
Adjust for Taste: Add more lime juice if too sweet, more agave if not sweet enough, orange juice or mango puree if too strong, or more tequila if not strong enough.
Notes
Use high-quality tequila blanco for the best flavor.
Fresh lime juice is essential.
Chill glasses for an extra-cold margarita.
The margarita mixture can be prepared ahead of time (without ice).
Experiment with flavors like chili powder, basil, coconut cream, strawberries, pineapple, or watermelon.
For a frozen margarita, blend all ingredients with ice until smooth.
Store leftover mango puree in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
