Strawberry Coquito: A Delicious Holiday Twist on a Classic

Creamy Strawberry Coquito: A festive Puerto Rican drink with coconut cream, condensed milk, strawberry puree, and spices. Add rum for an adult treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (13.5 ounce) can coconut cream
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 cup white rum (optional, or more to taste)
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree (fresh or frozen strawberries work)
  • 1/4 cup cream of coconut (Coco Lopez recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (for garnish)
  • Cinnamon sticks (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberry Puree: Wash and prep fresh strawberries (remove stems). If using frozen, skip this step. Blend strawberries in a blender or food processor until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for the smoothest texture (optional but recommended). Set aside.
  2. Blend Coquito: In a blender, combine coconut cream, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk.
  3. Add cream of coconut, strawberry puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla extract.
  4. If using, add rum.
  5. Blend on high speed until completely smooth (1-2 minutes).
  6. Taste and adjust flavors as needed (sweetness, spice, strawberry, rum).
  7. Chill and Serve: Pour into a pitcher or bottles. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight).
  8. Shake well before serving.
  9. Pour into glasses and garnish with sliced strawberries and cinnamon sticks (optional). Serve cold.
