6 cups cubed seedless watermelon, plus extra for garnish
1 cup tequila blanco (silver)
½ cup Cointreau or other orange liqueur
½ cup fresh lime juice, plus extra for rimming glasses
¼ cup agave nectar, or more to taste
Ice
Lime wedges, for garnish
Coarse salt or sugar, for rimming glasses (optional)
Instructions
Prepare Watermelon Puree: Cube watermelon and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for a smoother texture (optional). Chill for at least 30 minutes.
Mix Margarita: In a pitcher, combine chilled watermelon puree, tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and agave nectar.
Adjust Sweetness: Taste and add more agave nectar if needed. Stir well to dissolve.
Chill (Optional): Chill the mixture for 30 minutes for best flavor.
Prepare Glasses (Optional): Rim glasses with salt or sugar.
Serve: Fill glasses with ice, pour in the margarita mixture, and garnish with watermelon and lime wedges. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a spicy margarita, add jalapeño slices to the watermelon puree while blending.
Use reposado tequila for a smoky flavor.
For a frozen margarita, blend all ingredients with ice.
For a non-alcoholic version, omit the tequila and Cointreau.
Adjust sweetness to your liking.
